Immanuel: Promised Presence
The profound meaning of Christmas is God’s definitive action to overcome humanity's separation from Him, declaring Immanuel—God with us. This sermon anchors the Christian faith in God's unchanging desire to dwell with His people. We trace this commitment from the prophetic promises to its ultimate fulfilment in the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. Jesus became the visible, tangible, and permanent dwelling place of God. We then see how this access is a gift of grace through faith, calling us to communion, not performance. The sermon concludes with the glorious future hope of eternal, unveiled communion, where we will know Him fully and see Him "face to face".
